Douugh is looking at disrupting the finance industry by helping people invest for a decade, not a day. The Douugh investing platform allows users to invest easily and on repeat helping anyone invest regularly on their terms. It also enables them to spend and earn Stockback using their Douugh card.
In 2022 I was bought into the team to help lead the design for their launch in Australia (at the time Douugh had only been operating in the US). I lead the design process of the three main foundational products we have launched in Australia. At my time at Douugh I worked leading the research and product design of all new products launched in Australia, maintaining the design system and helping with our late 2023 rebranding and update to design styling. The Douugh app has been designed to house each product in ‘Jars’. Jars can be accessed via the Home Screen where the user can see a summary of that product. To better see the process behind each of these, I have broken them down into seperate case studies.
Investing
Invest Jar was the first product we launched in Australia and it enables users to invest in 7 different managed portfolios from BlackRock and invest in over 2,500 single US stocks. Our Invest Jar universe is all tied together with Autopilot our automated investment tool helping users create investing plans to regularly invest money into their account.
Spending
Spend Jar is the second product we launched and consists of a MasterCard, bank account and a small line of credit. Users can control what balance the card spends from within the app switching it from being a debit card to pulling from the line of credit for purchases. Spend Jar is also the home of Stockback Douugh's rewards program enabling users to earn cashback into their portfolio.
Douugh Pay
Douugh Pay is an online payment gateway enabling users to quickly checkout on partnered merchant websites and earn Stockback.
